Bio :

Alexandre St-Onge est un artiste interdisciplinaire ainsi qu’un performeur sonore qui explore les mutations du corps performatif à travers ses médiations sonores, textuelles et visuelles.
Docteur (PhD) en études et pratiques des arts (UQÀM, 2015) et professeur adjoint à l'École d'art de l'Université Laval, il est fasciné par la créativité en tant qu’approche pragmatique de l’insaisissable.
Il a publié plus d’une vingtaine d’œuvres et a présenté son travail dans divers lieux dont la Galerie Leonard & Bina Ellen à Montréal, chez Sporobole à Sherbrooke, chez Latitude 53 à Edmonton, au festival Tsonami à Valparaiso, chez Paved Arts à Saskatoon, au Eastern Bloc et à la Cinémathèque québécoise à Montréal, à l'Académie des Arts et de Design de Bergen, chez Avatar et au Mois Multi à Québec, à L'Écart à Rouyn-Noranda, chez Action Art Actuel à Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, au Errant Bodies Space à Berlin, à la Justina M. Barnicke Gallery à Toronto, au festival Send and Receive à Winnipeg ainsi qu'au festival Disturbance à Copenhague. Il a fondé les éditions|squint|press avec Christof Migone et il crée au sein de collectifs ainsi qu’avec de nombreux artistes : Marie Brassard, Simon Brown, Karine Denault, K.A.N.T.N.A.G.A.N.O., Lynda Gaudreau, Klaxon Gueule, kondition pluriel, mineminemine, Line Nault, Shalabi Effect, undo et Unzip Violence parmi d’autres.

Alexandre St-Onge is an interdisciplinary artist and sonic performer exploring the mutation of the performative body through its sonic, textual, and visual mediations. With a PhD in art (UQAM, 2015) and as an assistant professor at the Art School of Laval University, he is fascinated by creativity as a pragmatic approach to the ungraspable.
