Bio :

Artiste sonore, musicienne et réalisatrice radio. Son instrument a d'abord été un croisement entre le studio radio et un laboratoire de confrontations sonores. Elle s'est intéressée au field recording, au mixage et au (re) mixage en recyclant constamment le matériau généré. Elle a exploré la diffusion en utilisant de multiples haut-parleurs de différentes qualités et jusqu'à 25 paires d'écouteurs, utilisés comme diffuseurs, au sol, au mur ou suspendus, dans un contexte semi-installatif. Ces dernières années, elle travaille avec des synthétiseurs analogiques, des pédales de traitement et des sons générés par la technique du no input, explorant les registres extrêmes de l'aigu et du grave tout particulièrement tout en cherchant à repousser constamment le moment de l'objet fixé. Elle a participé à divers projets et festivals.
En parallèle à cette pratique, elle a connu une longue carrière en diffusion et production radiophonique à titre de réalisatrice à Radio-Canada dans le domaine des musiques de création expérimentales.

Hélène Prévost is a sound artist, musician, and radio producer. Her first instrument was a combination between a radio studio and a laboratory of sound confrontations. She was interested in field recordings, mixing and remixing, and the constant recycling of the material generated. She has explored transmission using multiple loudspeakers of varying quality and up to twenty-five pairs of headphones, employed as transmitters, on the ground, the wall, or hanging in a semi-installation. In recent years, she has worked with analog synthesizers, effects pedals, and sounds generated through a no-input technique, exploring extreme high and low registers and constantly seeking to delay the moment of the fixed object. She has participated in many projects and festivals. Parallel to this practice, she has had a long career as a radio producer in the field of experimental music at Radio-Canada.
