Un effondrement est survenu. Pas celui qui était annoncé – arrivé ni comment ni là où il était attendu, forçant une cassure de l’espace-temps.

En pleine accélération.

Les accélérations sont grisantes, certes, mais elles doivent être compensées par plus de ralentissements, plus souvent, plus longtemps.

Rendre possibles ces ralentissements.

Construire des lendemains plus humains, plus solidaires, plus communautaires.

Faire une jambette aux processus d’aliénation.

Habiter autrement le temps. Changer l’horizon de place. Décoloniser les esprits.

Accelerating is exhilarating, of course, but it also needs to be offset by slowing down more, more often, for a longer time.

Making this slowdown possible.

Building more humane, more supportive, more communal tomorrows.

Tripping up processes of alienation.

Inhabiting time in other ways. Changing the horizon. Decolonizing minds.



Bio :

Frédéric Auger est concepteur sonore, sonorisateur et professeur autodidacte et indiscipliné. Il travaille depuis une vingtaine d’années
en arts vivants. Il s’intéresse à la création et la mise en espace d’une matière sonore vivante, interprétée, transformée et spatialisée en direct. Sa pratique se veut intégrée organiquement au processus créatif et expérimental des artistes avec qui il s’associe.

Ces dernières années, il a collaboré entre autres avec l’Orchestre d’hommes-orchestres, le Bureau de l’APA, le Théâtre Rude Ingénierie, la compagnie de théâtre documentaire Porte Parole, Sibyllines (Brigitte Haentjens), Système Kangourou, La Nef et l’octuor montréalais Bellflower. Il est directeur technique du festival Akousma, consacré aux musiques numériques immersives.

Par le passé, il a eu la chance, en tant que concepteur sonore ou sonorisateur, de participer à diverses créations de Marie Brassard, François Girard, Robert Lepage et Claude Poissant.

Il enseigne présentement la sonorisation appliquée à la conception sonore à l’École nationale de théâtre du Canada.

Frédéric Auger is a self-taught and undisciplined sound designer, sound engineer, and teacher who has worked for over twenty years in the performing arts. He’s interested in creating sound material that is activated, interpreted, transformed, and spatialized live. His practice is organically integrated into the creative and experimental process of the artists with whom he works.

In recent years, he has collaborated with L’orchestre d’hommes-orchestres, Bureau de l’APA, Théâtre Rude Ingénierie, the documentary theatre company Porte Parole, Sibyllines (Brigitte Haentjens), Système Kangourou, La Nef, and the Montreal octet Bellflower. He is Technical Director of Akousma Festival, which features immersive digital music.

As a sound designer and engineer, he has had the opportunity to be part of various creations by Marie Brassard, François Girard, Robert Lepage, and Claude Poissant.

He currently teaches sound engineering as applied to sound design at the National Theatre School of Canada.
